LAKEPORT >> The four Lake County teams entered in the annual Clear Lake JV boys’ basketball tournament all won their games on Thursday night at Clear Lake High School in Lakeport.
Kelseyville edged Cloverdale 31-30, Lower Lake beat Fort Bragg 43-33, Middletown knocked off St. Helena 49-31, and Clear Lake roughed up Willits 66-27.
Kelseyville plays Lower Lake tonight at 6 p.m. and Clear Lake takes on Middletown at 7:30 p.m. in the winner’s semifinal round. The winners of those two games advance to Saturday’s championship game.
In Lower Lake’s win over Fort Bragg, Jermaine Watson led the Trojans with 11 points, Angel Jauregui added eight and Taylor Scott had five.
In Middletown’s victory St. Helena, Trey O’Neill led the way with 19 points, Noah Brown chipped in with eight and Luke Holt had seven.
In Clear Lake’s rout of Willits, TJ Marcks and Kyle Ashworth powered the Cardinals with 12 points apiece while Jake Elsa and Brady McGuire each had eight.
Scoring wasn’t reported in Kelseyville’s win over Cloverdale.
JV girls
Clear Lake’s JV girls team beat Pierce 43-34 in the opening round of the Colusa Tournament. Freshmen Kortnie Reynolds and Cassondra Bassett led the way with 16 and 11 points, respectively.
Clear Lake plays Sutter today at 1:30 p.m.
