WALNUT CREEK >> After missing a chance to win the game in the final seconds of regulation, the Lower Lake High School varsity girls’ basketball team outscored Berean Christian 10-1 in overtime to win 70-61 in non-league action on Friday night in Walnut Creek.

Samantha Caires led the Trojans (2-1) with 21 points, four of those in overtime, and Aleia Milano also scored four points in overtime while finishing with 10. Jolean Scarborough had 12 points and Ashlynn Mock added 10 more.

The Trojans had seven 3-point field goals, four by Caires.

Lower Lake also won the junior varsity game 43-28 behind 27 points from Vanessa Hughes.

Both Lower Lake teams are home Tuesday to play St. Vincent of Petaluma.
