Eight years ago Iven Hauptman, a young man who grew up in Lakeport and graduated from Clear Lake High School, moved to Thailand with his wife Kashmira where they have been serving as missionaries ever since.
These days, when people ask him what he does there exactly or “how the ministry is going” he answers. “We are witnesses. Witnesses to what God is doing.” Their formerly fledgling pioneer team of just the two of them has grown to include three other long-term families (and a growing pack of kids). As the leaders of Rak Teh, Iven and Kashmira find themselves spending more time supporting the work of the team and the church that God is growing in their neighborhood.
United Christian Parish (UCP) is delighted to invite you to join the congregation on Sunday to hear more about their ministry as Iven tells their story and answers your questions!
UCP is located at 745 N Brush St in Lakeport. Hauptman’s presentation will begin at 9 a.m. in the Conference Room at the church. All are welcome.
