SANTA ROSA >> The Elsie Allen Lobos controlled the second half and rallied past the Lower Lake Trojans 61-53 in non-league varsity boys’ basketball action on Monday night in Santa Rosa.

Lower Lake (1-3) held a 26-21 halftime lead before Elsie Allen’s offense kicked in. The Lobos outscored the Trojans 23-13 in the third quarter to push in front. Lower Lake crept within one late in the final period but Elsie Allen quickly answered with a 3-pointer.

“We’re trying to find an identify right now,” Lower Lake coach Shannon Tubbs said. “We haven’t found that guy willing to step up and make things happen.”

Hokulani Wickard’s 19 points paced the Trojans, Jordan McGrath added 11 and Marlon Jones had nine.

The Trojans dropped a 67-60 decision to St. Helena on Saturday night in the consolation championship game of the Sutter Home Tournament. Jerod Alexander led Lower Lake with 14 points. He was joined in double figures by teammates Jones (12 points), Wickard (11 points) and Ethan Watson (11 points).

Lower Lake is off until the 22nd annual Hoop Classic on Dec. 17 in Middletown.
