SANTA ROSA >> Jermaine Watson and Guido Boyd combined to nearly outscore the Elsie Allen Lobos all by themselves on Monday as the Lower Lake High School junior varsity boys’ basketball team prevailed 46-27 in non-league action at Santa Rosa.

Watson led the Trojans (2-2) with 16 points and Boyd added eight.

On Saturday, Lower Lake dropped a 58-57 decision in overtime to Middletown in the third-place game of the Clear Lake JV Tournament at Lakeport. Watson once again led the Trojans, this time with 25 points, and Izzac Carver had eight.

Lower Lake returns to action Dec. 17 against Kelseyville in the opening round of the 22nd annual Record-Bee Hoop Classic at Middletown High School. Game time is 2:30 p.m.

In other JV action Monday:

Laytonville 52, Upper Lake 44

At Upper Lake, the Cougars lost their first game of the season, falling to the Laytonville Warriors in non-league action.

Robert Neils powered Upper Lake (2-1) with 13 points. Chris Fecht added seven points and 10 rebounds while JT Claunch had a team-best 12 rebounds to go along with three points.

Upper Lake returns to action Friday against St. Helena in the opening round of the Willits JV Tournament. Game time is 5 p.m.
