Green Party to meet in January

Lakeport >> There will be no Green Party meeting in December due to the holidays.

The next meeting will be Jan. 17 when the movie “Fix It” will be shown. This movie deals with the broken health insurance system in the U.S.

The meeting will take place at Round Table Pizza, located on 821 11th St. in Lakeport from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be no host food and drink. The meeting is free and open to the public. Call (707) 263-3391 for more information.

Group to work on trails

Cobb >> The Friends of Boggs Mountain Trailwork Day will take place Sunday at 9 a.m. behind Cobb Mountain Elementary School.

The mostly unscathed section of Boggs is located behind the school, and the group will work on repairing erosion-prone trails.

Volunteers will meet at the parking lot of the elementary school, located at 15895 Highway 175 in Middletown. Allow for two to three hours; bring water, work gloves and shovel. There will also have tools available. For more info, contact David Thiessen at (707) 295-5972

Community breakfasts

Spring Valley >> Spring Valley will be having its monthly breakfast on Sunday from 8 to 11 a.m. There will be an all-you-can-eat buffet, with a special warm spiced fruit. Omelets made to order, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, biscuits and gravy and coffee and juice will also be available.

Adults are cost $7 and children cost $3.

The breakfast is held at the Spring Valley Community Center located at 3000 Wolf Creek Road. For information call 998-9928.

Clearlake >> The Clear Lake/Callayomi Masonic Lodge No. 183 Free and Accepted Masons will host their “Best Breakfast in Lake County” on Dec. 20 from 8 to 11 a.m.

There is a full, sit-down breakfast at the Masonic Center, located at 7100 S. Center Drive in Clearlake, on the third Sunday of each month.

Guests can choose breakfast from a menu that includes eggs (any style), omelets, hash browns, biscuits & gravy, hot cakes, breakfast meat, toast, juice and coffee.

The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-12. Children younger than 6 are fee and are served a special “kids” breakfast.

Free Christmas community dinner

Lakeport >> The Lakeport Senior Activity Center is continuing its tradition of hosting a free community dinner on Dec. 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This will be a turkey dinner with all the fixings.

All ages are invited to attend and opportunities to volunteer are available too. To volunteer for this event call 263-4218 and arrive to the center by 11 a.m.

The senior center is located at 527 Konocti Ave. in Lakeport.
