MIDDLETOWN >> Mark Quinn, District Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) San Francisco District Office, announced today that SBA will close its Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) in Middletown on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 6 p.m.

SBA opened the DLOC to provide federal disaster loans to businesses and residents impacted by the Valley and Butte Fires that occurred in Lake and Calaveras counties. According to Quinn, SBA has approved $18.1 million in federal disaster loans to help business owners and residents, $2.1 million for businesses and $16 million for residents.

“Although the deadline to apply for property damage loans has expired, small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations of any size may continue to apply for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster. EIDL assistance is available regardless of whether the business or nonprofit organization suffered any property damage,” said Quinn.

Until the Middletown DLOC closes, SBA customer service representatives will continue to meet with business owners and residents to help close their approved disaster loans and explain EIDL assistance for small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations. No appointment is necessary.
