ROCKLIN >> Six members of the Punishers Wrestling Club of Lower Lake participated in the Rocky Mountain National Beast of the West event last weekend in Rocklin and all six came away with medals of some sort.
Bryan Gudino and Arturo Gudino led the way with second-place medals. Bryan Gudino actually wrestled in two separate weight classes — 12-and-under 62 pounds and 12-and-under 66 pounds. In the 62-pound finals, he lost on a sudden-death takedown. In the 66-pound division, he placed third.
Aiden Dancer also wrestled in two weight classes. He ended up third in 8-and-under 54 pounds after pinning two opponents and scoring a 4-2 decision in another match, and he was fifth in 8-and-under 58 pounds. Carter Rudolph placed fourth in the 8-and-under 78-pound division, Isaiah Rubio was fifth in the 12-and-under 66-pound division where he won a heart-pounding ultimate tie-breakder decision in the seventh round, and Mario Cuellar was sixth in the 12-and-under 90-pound division.
The Punishers return to action this weekend at Natomas High School in Sacramento.
