DAVIS >> Assemblymember Bill Dodd announced today that he is endorsing Davis Mayor Dan Wolk to succeed him in the Assembly, citing Wolk’s experience and dedication to the issues important to the entire region. Dodd joins more than 75 other state and local officials from all corners of the district who have endorsed Wolk, including Senator Mike McGuire, 22 county officials and nine mayors.
“Mayor Dan Wolk is an effective advocate for the issues that impact our entire region, such as creating jobs, improving schools, protecting our environment and stabilizing our water supply,” said Dodd. “Dan’s experience, skill and collaborative style will make him a reliable, trusted partner in Sacramento. I am proud to support Dan Wolk to succeed me in the Assembly.”
Dodd has, for many, worked hard to overturn a belief that state government ignores Northern California. In addition to efforts on behalf of Lake County, he led the way on legislation to deal with gender pay equity, worked to designate the Berryessa Snow Mountain area as a national monument, co-wrote the law creating an Earned Income Tax Credit in California and helped secure $400 million dollars for career technical education throughout the state.
Prior to serving in the Assembly, Dodd served on the Napa County Board of Supervisors for 14 years.
Currently serving as Mayor, Wolk has been on the Davis City Council since 2011. He works as a Deputy County Counsel for Solano County, handling public finance, public contracting and water issues. He is also the founder of the Legal Clinic of Yolo County, a legal services provider for low-income families.
Assembly District 4 consists of Lake and Napa counties, most of Yolo County, as well as portions of Sonoma, Solano and Colusa Counties.
