Part of park closed for hunt
LAKE COUNTY >> The Konocti Rod and Gun Club is hosting its annual Junior Pheasant Hunt at Highland Springs today between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The hunt will take place in the northeast field in front of the gun ranges, as it has in the past. This are of the park will be closed during that time.

Long-Term Recovery Task Force meeting update
LAKE COUNTY >> The last Valley Fire Long-Term Recovery Task Force meeting of 2015 was held at Black Rock Golf Course in Cobb on Tuesday. Meetings will resume for 2016, with the next meeting taking place at Twin Pine Casino Event Center in Middletown on Jan. 5.
Additionally, Long-Term Valley Fire Task Force Coordinator, Carol Huchingson, will not be holding office hours during the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s.
Calpine closed for Christmas, New Year
Middletown >> The Calpine Geothermal Visitors Center will be closed from Thursday through Jan. 2 to allow the team to celebrate the holiday with their families. They will resume regular business operations on Jan. 6.
The visitors center, located at 15500 Central Park Road in Middletown, is open to the public Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Libraries closed for Christmas, New Year
LAKE COUNTY >> All branches of the Lake County Library system will be closed Dec. 24 through 26 to observe Christmas. Normal hours at all branches will resume on Dec. 29. Call your local branch if you have any questions.
