FORESTVILLE >> Four Lower Lake players scored in double figures as the Trojans made quick work of the El Molino Lions 62-24 in non-league varsity girls’ basketball action on Friday night in Forestville.
“We had a nice rounded scoring effort tonight,” Lower Lake coach Bryce Binns said of Lower Lake’s sixth win in eight games this season. “We did a good job rebounding and on defense and cut down on our turnovers.”
Katelyn Farrell’s 13 points led the way while Alisha King and Aleia Milano finished with 11 points apiece and Jolean Scarborough had 10.
Lower Lake is off until the opening round of the Chernoh Tournament on Dec. 28 in Lower Lake.
In junior varsity action on Friday, Lower Lake beat El Molino 52-24 behind 16 points from Vanessa Hughes.

Orland Tournament
K’ville 66, Gridley 46
At Orland, when the Orland Trojans switched to a triangle-and-two defense in the second half in an attempt to slow down Kelseyville’s Riley Goff, the Knights had an answer in the winner’s semifinal round of the Orland Tournament.
“They left Alma (Perez) wide open,” Kelseyville coach Jim Hale said.
Perez responded by scoring 11 of her 20 points in the second half as the Knights (8-1) overpowered the Trojans the final two quarters.
“She hit two big 3-pointers in the fourth quarter when they her her open,” Hale said.
Goff led all scorers with a season-best 26 points that included three 3-pointers. The Knights hit nine 3-pointers overall.
Kelseyville plays Anderson for the tournament championship tonight at 8 p.m.
Kelseyville’s JVs fell 45-43 to Red Bluff in the winner’s semifinal round after rallying from as much as a 16-point deficit.
Brisa Villa’s 10 points led the Knights and Tymeka Green and Bailey Couey had nine apiece.
Boys’ basketball
Kennedy 87, Upper Lake 43
At Point Arena, Kennedy defeated the Upper Lake Cougars in the winner’s semifinal round of the Point Arena Tournament.
Isaac Nevarez led the Cougars (5-3) with 12 points and Sal Sanchez had eight.
