Lower Lake High School junior guard Marlon Jones scored a tournament-best 61 points during the 22nd annual Record-Bee Hoop Classic boys’ basketball tournament held recently at Middletown High School. After a tough first-round loss to eventual varsity champion Kelseyville, a game in which Jones led all scorers with 24 points, the Trojans turned in solid efforts against Middletown and Clear Lake, finishing the round-robin tournament at 1-2. Jones also had 24 points in a 76-69 loss to Clear Lake. He was one of two Lower Lake players named to the All-Tournament team. The Trojans, 2-5 on the season, return to action Dec. 28 in the opening round of the Chernoh Classic at Lower Lake High School.
