On the trail

I just read that Trey Gowdy said, “I look forward to campaigning in Iowa with him (Marco Rubio), and introducing my good friend to voters across the state.” Has he put the Benghazi investigation on hold? This would put him in line with the thought that the investigation is being used to discredit Clinton and not do any actual investigation.

So much for Congressman Gowdy’s integrity.

Common sense?

Porn can be defined by using common sense. I believe this was the language used in a Supreme Court case. But now common sense is being thrown out the window by the brilliant new term used by the left and this administration. The phrase is “that is not who we are!”

Well, lets see. We can not use all reasonable info to vet Muslin immigrants, like public social media background checks when vetting someone, because that is not who we are, or is this common sense? Entry into this Country is a privilege, not a right. Common sense? You bet, but also the law! Illegal aliens pour across our border and instead of turning them back at the border, we give them a court date and turn them lose and 70 percent disappear into this country without being vetted never to be seen again.

Common sense? Have they been vaccinated for disease like we are required to be? Will they be a burden to society? Common sense? You bet, but also a law!

We allow Sanctuary Cities which is against federal law, is this good common sense or this is NOT who we are! And on and on! But if we use the phrase “that is not who we are,” are we throwing common sense and the law out the window thus creating anarchy?

So next time you hear that phrase, ask yourself what is the law common sense, and is that who we really are? Put your touchy feely PC feelings behind you and ask yourself what is the law and what are the ramifications!!! Somewhere between 8-15 percent of Muslim in the USA believe in jihad! Against the law. Fifty percent believe we should have Sharia Law, against our laws! Is this who we are?

And to you Seniors, a lot of the money to support these refugees will come out of Social Security. When’s the last time you had a cost of living increase?

And by the way President Obama said he was dispatching Ash Carter to the Middle East. He was already scheduled to leave the day of President Obama’s dog and pony show. Guess he will be a day late? Could this be why only 20 percent of voters feel the country is headed in the right direction? Those 20 percent live in New York and California. One pundit said California would vote for Donald Duck if he had a (D) behind his name. Oh the land of brain dead liberals and uninformed voters with their heads in there iPhones. May I recommend a good neural surgeon? Best line of the day “Hillary as President?” That’s like having Anthony Wiener to be in charge of your high school year book? LOL Thank you Gregg Gutfield, I am still laughing.

Just remember this Administration allowed the San Bernardino woman who killed 14 people, with her husband, to enter into the USA “because that’s not who we are.” Progressive liberalism run amuck or as Reverend Wright said, “The Chickens have come home to roost.” (Little did he know he would become a philosopher, on second though he is still a left wing kook.)

A service for non-profits

Tis the season to count your blessings! Among the many blessings of living in Lake County is the enormous amount of community support for school groups and non-profits. Case in point: DJ’s Pizza in Lower Lake. According to assistant manager Shane Merrill, any school group or non profit can sign up for a Wednesday night all-you-can-eat pizza fundraiser simply by calling DJ’s at 994-4760 to reserve a date on the calendar. Merrill cautions that they are usually booked 5-6 months ahead. Customers are charged $8, of which $5 goes to DJ’s to cover the cost of the pizza, and $3 goes to the non-profit. As every non-profit knows, fundraising is a labor intensive activity and here is a very simple and easy way to raise funds.

The Children’s Museum of Art and Science (CMAS) just held a pizza night and we were very pleased with the results. We are very grateful to DJ’s for providing this opportunity for us. While the pizza was hot and delicious, it was the spirit of support and connection to the community that filled our hearts as well as our stomachs. Many thanks also to those who attended and bought raffle tickets. CMAS will, in turn, now be able to continue to provide free hands on art and science experiences for the youth of Lake County, so the circle of giving is complete.
