UPPER LAKE >> Behind 13 points from Robert Neils and 11 from Kahlil George, the Upper Lake High School junior varsity boys’ basketball team hammered Rincon Valley Christian 74-20 in the North Central League II opener for both teams on Friday evening in Upper Lake.
J.T. Claunch also had 10 points as Upper Lake improved to 9-4 overall heading into its home game tonight against St. Vincent of Petaluma.

K’ville 55, Cloverdale 54
At Kelseyville, the Kelseyville Knights improved to 2-0 in the NCL I standings with a nailbiter of a victory over the Cloverdale Eagles.
Randy Pfann led the Knights with 14 points. He was joined in double figures by Adrian Villalobos with 13 points and Johnny Mendonca with 11. Scott Sanchez added eight points.
Lower Lake 43, St. Helena 31
At Lower Lake, the host Trojans built a 19-5 lead and went on to beat the Saints for their second league win in as many games. Taylor Scott powered Lower Lake with 17 points and Guido Boyd had six.
“We played all of our guys and they all played hard,” Lower Lake coach Jeremy Jakubowski said. “Our defense won the game.”
Clear Lake 51, M’town 45
At Lakeport, Rodrigo Lupercio led a balanced Clear Lake scoring attack as the Cardinals defeated Middletown to square their league record at 1-1. Tanner Cole and Brady McGuire each had 10 points in the win while Josh Damiata had nine. The Cardinals are 11-1 overall.
For Middletown, now 0-3 against Clear Lake this season, Trey O’Neill led all scorers with 18 points and Colton Hall had eight.
Girls
Lower Lake 47, St. Helena 31
At St. Helena, Catie Pesonen scored 10 points and Vanessa Hughes and Ayvree Smith each had nine as the Lower Lake Trojans beat the St. Helena Saints in NCL I action.
The Trojans are 2-0 in league play headed into tonight’s home game against Fort Bragg.
Clear Lake 31, M’town 24
At Lakeport, Kortnie Reynolds put up 11 points and teammate Grace Davidson added another 10 as the Clear Lake Cardinals notched their second NCL I win in as many tries, beating Middletown.
Callie Wilson’s 10 points led the Mustangs, now 0-2 in league.
K’ville 52, Cloverdale 35
At Cloverdale, Bib Hamner’s 16 points and another 15 from Brisa Villa fueled Kelseyville’s NCL I win over the Cloverdale Eagles.
Bailey Couey added 12 points and Tymeka Green had nine for the Knights, now 2-0 in league play.
Upper Lake 12, Rincon Valley 10
At Upper Lake, Julia Mooney had nine of Upper Lake’s points in NCL II action against the Rincon Valley Christian Eagles.
