Rain measures up
Back in the mid-1990s I started recording rain gauge readings at my Witter Springs home and continued through the end of the 2000-2001 season. Comparison of the readings I obtained during those years with those published in the Record-Bee indicate that Witter Springs has one of the highest rainfall levels in Lake County. For instance, when I compared my figures with those published from the Forest Service Upper Lake Ranger Station, only 4.097 miles to the east southeast of my location and separated from it by the relatively low Middle Mountain (Sleeper Peak, elevation 2820 feet), my readings were almost invariably double those of the ranger station. Due in part to the recent drought and the advent of another El Niño weather event, I started recording measured precipitation again and I submit for publication these few examples of my results for comparison:
1997-1998 (last big El Niño year) as of January 6 = 22.58 inches. Season total = 76.98 inches
1998-1999 as of January 6 = 12.24 inches. Season total = 44.76 inches
1999-2000 as of January 6 = 11.39 inches. Season total = 44.57 inches
2000-2001 as of January 6 = 6.79 inches. Season total = 29.74 inches
2015-2016 as of January 6 = 38.08 inches. Season total = ____ inches
Ground water saturation can reasonably be inferred from sustained runoff in the ditch bordering Bachelor Valley Road 24 hours after the last rainfall. Most seasons this occurs after about 20 inches of precipitation. We are now at nearly double that figure and the ditch is drying up within a few hours after the rain stops falling as the water continues to be absorbed into the soil.

Back to Benghazi
With as many letters as I have written concerning Benghazi I would think Mac would finally get it. Hillary was involved for all the hours, plus more, of the attack. Seven different investigations prove this. Why I would want to say it never happened and Hillary wasn’t involved in something that never happened is beyond me.
When Mac goes to see “13 Hours,” I want him to pay careful attention to the opening credits to see if it says “inspired by the book” or “based on the book” or “a faithful representation of the book.” This could mean anywhere from 5 percent to 100 percent accurate accounting of events. In any case this movie should say nothing of the involvement of Hillary or Obama in the attack (if it does the factual percentage goes way down).
On to Hillery’s e-mails. Most of her involvement during the attack was done at the state department and at home with a telephone in direct contact with the operations center. None of this was done via e-mail. Why the Republicans think this was by e-mail is also beyond my understanding.
Concerning Hillery’s “free ride” by the “lame stream” media, has Mac not read what has been printed by this media? Or does Mac only get his news from Fox news and Rush Limbaugh? And, the last I heard, George W. is still not under indictment or in jail for all the illegal things he did. What does Mac have to say about that?
And, I see, that Mac is still perpetuating the myth of the “stand down” order issued by Clinton/Obama/Panetta/insert name here … I am probably wasting my breath when I point Mac to this web site: armedservices.house.gov/index.cfm/files/serve?File_id=286253c3-3345-46a3-a120-496a75a448da . This is the official timeline of the events. Or try this one: www.factcheck.org/2015/02/boehner-and-benghazi/ . This one discounts the ‘stand down’ order as well.
But I suspect that Mac will continue to believe the ‘fact’ based web sites that still claim that the order was issued.

Smart thinking
I have talked to a couple of our Board members regarding the State of California and their time frame regarding the marijuana laws for the State and/or the counties in California. As far as I am concerned we have a very educated Board of Supervisors who have a done a stand up job for the County of Lake and its citizens. I believe that in the very near future they will be making a decision regarding the marijuana situation and the state laws.
At this time I am asking the Board of Supervisors if they would take the ordinances they have at this time, which I feel works well, except for a few growers that wanted to own the world with their growing tactics. I believe that at this time our Board should allow a dispensary in Lakeport, Kelseyville, we have a couple of city ones in Clearlake, we have one in Lucerne where people meet and horse trade. Also, we should have one in Middletown. The county would be covered for medicine for the people who really need it. The dispensary rules before worked very well except for a couple of operators in the county that didn’t really want to go by the rules, these are the ones that caused the problems to start with. The county has control now and would have control of the law of the county and also have control of the income and the taxes regarding all of the dispensaries. So it would be a win-win for the taxpayers and revenue for the County of Lake and their budgets.
I believe it is a good idea, I believe most people involved in that industry would believe it would be a good idea to put that all in concrete at this time to eliminate a lot of problems for our County and our residences for now and in the future. I know the Board had talked about going this direction some time back, but with the problems we have had in the county regarding fires and other issues our Board has been totally drowned agenda wise for quite some time and I am sure everyone understands that our board has been working very hard to solve all the problems.
