The Gifting a Tree Project started by Lake County resident Kathy Blair before Christmas to encourage ‘planting it forward’ for live trees continued in the post holiday season. The idea — giving live Christmas trees after use to Valley Fire victims who are rebuilding — has been so successful that volunteers have collected almost 500 trees.
