Clearlake >> Three people were arrested Saturday morning at a red-tagged residence after an officer discovered a weapon, as well as a vehicle and several identifications reported to have been stolen.
Clearlake officer Michael Perreault found the loaded firearm in a bathroom of a home in the 14500 block of Uhl Avenue. He was responding to a report that came in at about 10:30 a.m. indicating several people were inside the red-tagged residence, Sgt. Rodd Joseph said in a media release.
The structure received the classification after it was deemed by Clearlake Code Enforcement as uninhabitable, making it a violation under the city’s Uniform House Code to be on the property depending on the purpose for being on the property and the time and day of the week.
When Perreault arrived he located numerous people inside the residence, including Marcus James Kirk, 41, who was reportedly walking out of the rear from an empty bathroom. This is where the officer found the firearm. An investigation indicated that Kirk is listed as a convicted felon. He faces charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Clearlake resident Ashley Inet King, 27, was also at the residence. Officers found her to be in possession of two pieces of identification from two other Clearlake residents, Joseph said. These two Clearlake residents both reported being prior victims of theft and these specific pieces of identification had been stolen. King was arrested facing a charge of possession of stolen property.
There was a white newer Subaru SUV parked in front of the residence displaying paper dealer plates, as if the vehicle had recently been purchased. Justin Lee Beebe, 32, who was also inside the home with the others, reportedly claimed that he borrowed the vehicle from a friend and had the vehicle keys. Upon checking the vehicle identification number, the Subaru was found to be a stolen vehicle out of Sparks, Nevada. The SUV had been called in as missing from the owner’s driveway back in November.
Beebe, of Clearlake, also faces charges of possession of stolen property.
The remaining people at the residence were allowed to leave the premises. Kirk, King and Beebe were all later booked into the Lake County jail.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact officer Perreault. He can be reached at (707) 994-8251 ext. 519.
