KELSEYVILLE >> Bouncing back from a tough loss to Lower Lake on Friday, the Kelseyville Knights beat the Clear Lake Cardinals 76-53 in North Central League I varsity boys’ basketball action on Tuesday night in Kelseyville.
The Knights improved to 3-2 in the league standings and 13-4 overall. They are 3-0 against the Cardinals (2-3, 10-7) this season.
“Our kids just responded and the lesson they learned on Friday paid off for us tonight,” Kelseyville coach Scott Conrad said.
Clear Lake got as close as six points in the second half before Kyle Ellis and Nick Pfann of the Knights took control down the stretch. Both finished with 14 points and Ellis had 10 of his in the final period.
“And I can’t say enough about the play of Ean (Valenzuela) and Nate (Carpenter) off the bench,” Conrad said.
Valenzuela also had 14 points while Carpenter added seven.
Ryan Damiata scored 15 points and Stevie Diaz 12 for the Cards.
