LAKEPORT >> AMA professionals Stevie Bonsey, Sammy Halbert, Billy Janniro, Jimmy McAllister, Michael Inderbitzin, Damon Coca, Shawn Raggio, Bo Thompson, Blake Thompson and local favorite Brad Miller are expected to compete Saturday when flat track motorcycle racing returns to the Lakeport Indoor Track at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Lakeport.
DTX Pro riders are competing for their share of the $2,000 purse, 85/150 class riders will be competing for a $500 purse, and Vintage riders will be competing for a $400 purse.
Riders race in 25-lap main events.
“This is the exciting part of being a promoter,”said David Furia of the Lakeport Speedway. “When things come together like this and through the generosity of sponsors, we can offer riders big-time money at our local track. Riders are coming from far and wide to have a chance at this money and this will be a race not to be missed!”
The Lakeport Indoor Winter Series helps keep racing going in the community during what is normally considered racing’s offseason, according to Furia.
Gates open Saturday at 9 a.m. and racing is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
