LAKEPORT >> The public is invited to attend the Chi Council meeting on today at 3:30 p.m. at the Lake County Agriculture Center at 883 Lakeport Blvd., Lakeport.
The subject of the meeting will be an update on grant applications to protect the Clear Lake Hitch and information on the impact of the recent storms on the creeks that flow into the lake.
The Chi Council is a group of volunteers which was formed to protect and restore the Clear Lake hitch, a native fish of Clear Lake. Chi is the Pomo word for hitch. The California Fish and Game Commission has declared the hitch as endangered.
