MIDDLETOWN >> Monica Rosenthal announced that Congressman Mike Thompson is endorsing the Middletown community leader to represent the residents of District 1 on the Lake County Board of Supervisors.

“Monica Rosenthal has earned my support with her effective and dedicated service to the people of South Lake County,” said Thompson.

“During the aftermath of the Valley Fire, Monica was constantly there to help residents who were displaced or made homeless by the disaster,” continued Thompson. “From her assistance at the Calistoga Fairgrounds during the evacuation period to her service as a board member for the Team Lake County volunteer recovery organization, I watched her repeatedly provide the hard work and leadership needed to bring our communities together and move Lake County forward from this tragedy.”

Thompson’s endorsement follows support from District 5 Supervisor Rob Brown, former District 1 Supervisor Ed Robey, Six Sigma Ranch and Winery owner Kaj Ahlmann, Beckstoffer Vineyards owner Andy Beckstoffer, former District 1 Planning Commissioner Frieda Camotta and several District 1 business owners.

“I am proud to support Monica Rosenthal for County Supervisor. Her knowledge of planning, agriculture and land use issues will be a huge asset in assisting the recovery and rebuilding of our South County communities,” stated Thompson.

A South County resident for two decades, Rosenthal and her husband Dave farm wine grapes, and own and operate a small business in Middletown. She represented District 1 on the Lake County Planning Commission from 2007 to 2009 and on the Lake County Farm Bureau Board of Directors from 2010 to 2015.

Rosenthal is currently serving her second term on the Napa/Lake Work Force Investment Board, serves as a Director on the Middletown Area Merchants Association Board and is a long-time member of the Middletown Fire Sirens.

District 1 includes the communities of Middletown, Anderson Springs, Hidden Valley Lake, Lower Lake and the unincorporated southern portion of Clearlake.

“It is truly an honor to earn the support of Congressman Thompson,” declared Rosenthal. “He has done so much to help the people of Lake County; we are blessed to have him as our Representative.”

Rosenthal listed as her priorities recovery from the Valley Fire and rebuilding “first and foremost,” followed by economic growth, boosting tourism and creating jobs while protecting quality of life.

“The communities of District 1 are incredibly important,” she said. “From the south, we are the gateway to the treasures of Lake County.”
