LAKEPORT >> The Lake County Library introduced a new service for downloading eBooks. Library patrons can now download books through both Enki, an eBook platform created by libraries for libraries, and the Overdrive platform. Patrons can access Enki with their Lake County Library cards through the library website library.lakecountyca.gov.
Enki was founded by Califa, a nonprofit library cooperative, and the Contra Costa County Library “to upend the public eBook environment and create a unique place for literary discovery.”
Any library card holder can now log onto Enki, browse its collection and access exclusive book only available on the platform. In addition to thousands of eBooks from modern non-fiction to classic novels, Enki also hosts local independent writers and unpublished works from bestselling authors.
