The day after scoring her 1,000th career point, Clear Lake High School senior Taylor Helms was still enjoying the moment with her coach, Kory Reynolds, and her teammates. Helms reached the milestone by scoring 21 points in a 66-33 victory over the St. Helena Saints on Thursday night in St. Helena. She is the first player to reach 1,000 by hitting a free throw that completed a three-point play, that early in the fourth quarter. Helms’ 1,000th point came in her 72nd varsity game spanning three seasons.
