LAKEPORT >> State Assemblyman Bill Dodd on Tuesday endorsed the candidacy of Lakeport City Councilman Martin Scheel for the office of Lake County Supervisor in District 4.

“Councilman Martin Scheel will be an energetic and effective voice for all residents of District 4,” declared Dodd. “I am pleased to endorse his candidacy to succeed Anthony Farrington on the Lake County Board of Supervisors.”

In a statement issued to the press, Dodd praised Scheel’s leadership in the aftermath of the Valley Fire. Scheel joined supervisor Rob Brown and Lake County Sheriff Brian Martin in the fire zone the first two days, assisting with evacuation and safety. Dodd also pointed to Scheel’s efforts in delivering local support to assist the recovery and rebuilding process for displaced residents.

“Assemblyman Dodd has been a true champion for the people of Lake County and I am humbled to earn his endorsement,” stated Scheel. “My campaign is really starting to generate a strong groundswell of community support.”

Dodd joins Lakeport Councilmember Stacey Mattina, Lakeport Councilmember Kenny Parlett and former Lakeport Police Chief and Councilman Tom Engstrom in endorsing Scheel’s campaign.
