Lakeport >> A neuropathy support group will meet on Feb. 17 on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Lakeport Senior Activity Center, at 527 Konocti Avenue in Lakeport.

Neuropathy is a disease or dysfunction of the peripheral nervous system. It is estimated there are more than 2 million people in California suffering from it. Symptoms of neuropathy includes numbness, tremor, impairment of balance and gait abnormality, tingling, pain, muscle twitch and itching. Neuropathic pain is difficult to control and can seriously affect emotional well-being and overall quality of life.

Those interested in exploring the ins and outs of neuropathy are welcome to attend these support meetings, which are held monthly at Lakeport Senior Activity Center. Any questions, please contact Mito Kodera at 245-7605.
