Marysville >> The American Indian Education Program of Marysville and Yuba-Sutter Pow Wow, Inc. are sponsoring a winter Pow Wow on Feb. 20 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Allyn Scott Youth Civic Center at 1830 B St. in Marysville.
Open Gourd ceremony starts at noon, with the Grand Entry at 1 p.m.. In addition to the ceremonies there will be a raffle and a team dance contest, along with craft and food vendors.
The MC for the event is Val Shadowhawk. The Arena Director is Eugene Newman. The Host Northern Drum is Red Hoop, and the Southern Drum is Southern Express.
This Pow Wow is open to the public, though there are rules of etiquette that must be followed at all times. All drums and dancers are welcome. There is no admission fee. No smoking, drugs or alcohol are permitted during the event.
