WILLITS >> The Clear Lake Cardinals answered the bell in the fourth quarter, outscoring Willits 17-10 and beating the Wolverines 45-37 in North Central League I varsity girls’ basketball action on Thursday night in Willits.
“Valerie found her range,” Clear Lake coach Kory Reynolds said of guard Valerie Hutton, who sank both of her 3-pointers in the final period, part of her 10-point night.
Camille Donald also had six of her 11 points down the stretch for Clear Lake (7-6 league, 14-9 overall).
Taylor Helms led the Cardinals with 13 points.
Willits won the junior varsity game 40-32. Grace Davidson led Clear Lake with 16 points and Kortnie Reynolds and Skye Bruch each had five.
