LOWER LAKE >> Too many turnovers and too many missed shots added up to a 48-36 loss for the Lower Lake Trojans in North Central League I varsity girls’ basketball action on Thursday night at home against the Cloverdale Eagles.

While the Trojans (4-9 league, 12-13 overall) cut a 19-9 deficit after one quarter to 28-22 by halftime, they never made a serious run at the Eagles in the second half, according to head coach Bryce Brin.

“We couldn’t take care of the basketball and we couldn’t make baskets,” Brin said. “And they (Eagles) hit a ton of free throws.”

Aleia Milano’s 11 points paced the Trojans, Samantha Caires added 10 points and Ashlynn Mock had seven.

Lower Lake won the junior varsity game 67-52 to clinch the outright league title at 13-0. Vanessa Hughes led the way with 24 points and Anahi Robles had 14. The Trojans are 23-2 overall.
