Lower Lake >> Scott’s Valley Band of Pomo Indians will host a creative community workshop addressing cyanobacteria and its health impacts on the Clear Lake habitat on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the Lower Lake Schoolhouse Museum from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Community from around Clear Lake is invited to attend and participate. Attendees will learn about cyanobacteria monitoring programs and will contribute to the creation of a series of health warning and informational signs to be installed along Clear Lake’s shoreline.

Informed by the work of the Clear Lake Cyanobacteria Task Force and the Big Valley Rancheria and Elem Indian Colony Cyanotoxin Monitoring Program, the workshop will discuss historical and current conditions of the lake, working to develop a clear and helpful sign and kiosk system that will keep all visitors adequately informed regarding current water quality conditions in the lake.

This unique workshop will combine science, art, and local history in a creative approach to the development of site specific, culturally sensitive and scientifically accurate information systems regarding our cherished Clear Lake.

They invite all for a fun, interactive, activity oriented workshop. Art supplies and refreshments will be provided. The entire family is welcome to attend. Organizers look forward to bringing the community together to create a solution that works for all.
