With so many students graduating and coming to Carlé High School, the student council needed to be reorganized. The current student council is composed of two representatives from each advisory group, with the officers chosen by the council as a whole. The current student council is Andrew Astorga, Destiny Blevins, Jason Conatser, Kayla Doyle, Ashton Legg, Brianna Legg, Kristen Melcher and Riley Nielsen.
The student of the week last week was Destiny Parlet. Destiny has worked hard since the day she arrived on campus, and is an excellent student who takes her work and graduation seriously.
Carlé has recently started a new tradition. Principal Strahl bought every student and staff member of the school a shirt with the school’s ESLRs (Expected School-wide Learning Results) on the back, which spell out “Carlé”: Community; Achievement; Responsibility; Life-long learning; and Empowerment. Students are supposed to wear the shirts every Friday, and everyone who does gets a special CHILE that gets put in a drawing for a special prize.
The unique “Be Fresh” program will complete its events for this year. Carlé’s media class has designed plaques and mugs for the people who have helped out.
Carlé just had a gold level trip to Scandia, led by teachers Dan Maes and Alan Siegel. The trip also marked Mr. Maes’ birthday.
“Gold level was super,” he said about the outing. “The students behavior was excellent. The students had a great time and I had a wonderful 66th birthday.”
