Lakeport >> The famed on-screen married couple team up again in “After the Thin Man,” the second in the MGM comedy-mystery series starring William Powell and Myrna Loy. The 1936 classic film screens at the Soper Reese Theatre in Lakeport on March 8, at 1 and 6 p.m.
Powell is cast as the brilliant, but somewhat shady, alcoholic who trades witty quips with his socialite wife, played to by Loy. After the Thin Man boasts two things the original lacks — a much more engaging caper and a performance by a young Jimmy Stewart.
The movie is sponsored by local film enthusiast Michael D. Lorenzini. It is unrated with run time of one hour 53 minutes. Entry to the film is by donation.
