Looking for a fifth straight winning season and playoff appearance under head coach Chris Emberson, the Lower Lake High School softball team is scheduled to open the 2016 season today with a non-league game against Pierce at Arbuckle beginning at 3:30 p.m. The Trojans return the majority of their starters from last season’s 19-7 squad, including Ashlynn Mock (above), who is now the team’s staff ace. The Trojans are a combined 68-32 in Emberson’s first four seasons. Last year they made it as far as the North Coast Section Division IV quarterfinals before losing 3-1 to Marin Catholic.
