Kelseyville >> Lake County Horse Council will host its Stay Safe 2016 event on Friday. The meeting will be held at the Kelseyville Senior Center, 5245 Third St., at 4 p.m.
Speakers from both CalFire and LEAP will be sending representatives to speak at the event. They will speak just prior to Dr. Jeff Smith’s “Lessons Learned from the Valley Fire” presentation.
Smith’s presentation will give information on how to prepare and pre-defend your space. He will also give helpful information on how to prepare for evacuation, prepare for the worst case scenario and develop means to transporting and confining your animals.
Smith will be answering questions at the close of his presentation. This will be a potluck for snacks and the horse council will provide water, sodas, juice, paper plates, utensils and napkins.
