Lakeport >> The Lake County Chamber is offering three, two-day QuickBooks classes designed specifically for business professionals. These are being offered in cooperation with Mendocino College Lake Center. The beginning, intermediate and advanced short courses will be customized to meet the needs of today’s business professionals at all levels.
Classes will take place in Lake Center Room 7110, a lab with 30 networked workstations. The three classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday; April 12 and 14, and May 10 and 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. each day.
The courses will be taught by Jeff Bailey, a local businessman who has extensive experience using QuickBooks in his business and in teaching QuickBooks in college classrooms and online.
Bailey received his undergraduate training in engineering physics from the University of Michigan, and then received an executive MBA from Pepperdine University with a concentration in accounting and finance. He has worked for 15 years in a major research center in various areas of computer technology, has been a vice president of two mid-sized corporations, has owned and operated two successful companies and has been an adjunct professor of computer science and business management courses for more than 25 years. Bailey currently teaches at Mendocino College and owns and operates a software development business.
“Of all of the things I’ve done in my life, I love teaching the most,” Bailey said.
The cost for each student will be $45 per class (beginning, intermediate and advanced), which means participants can achieve competency for $135 and 12 hours of time.
