Being fair
I am truly curious as to how voter ID requirements disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters if they are actually eligible. And why would such requirements favor Republicans and discriminate against Democrats if all voters are actually entitled to vote? Are level playing fields no longer a liberal policy?
And as for Ellen Karnowski’s March 1st letter detailing her president’s accomplishments; I am happy that her and his other followers are satisfied with his tenure. However there exists a very large contingency of Americans, including myself, who cannot wait for his exit and a real leader to take the controls. And I am not referring to another Clinton.
Freely expressing our opposing views is one of many things that we all still enjoy as Americans.
I am reasonably certain that Robin Hood was viewed by those that he gave to as a hero and by those that he stole from as a thief.

Rest in peace
Tuesday night saw the tragic death of the “Right Wing, Conservative, Evangelical, Republican Party.” This loss was felt only by those American citizens who the Republican Party thought only had a third grade education.

State politics
Brent Pomeroy would have us believe that California has been a liberal state for the last 50 years (RB 3-3). Just looking at the governors, that would be the last year of Pat Brown’s administration. Good start. Then we have Ronald Reagan for 8 years. Counteracted by Jerry Brown for 8 years then George Deukmejian for 8.
Who’s next? Not another Republican, Pete Wilson for 8. Finally another Democrat, Grey Davis, but only for 5. Then another Republican, Arnold, for 7. Then to present day, Jerry Brown, for the last 5 years. So that gives us 19 years under Democrats and, hold on, can this be true? Thirty one years under Republicans.
They must have carried on the Democratic liberal policy in order for Mr. Pomeroy to be right.

In support of Saylor
Don Saylor is Lake County’s best hope of representing the needs and concerns of our people in the State Assembly. We are in a state of recovery from last year’s fires as well as dealing with the ongoing issues that have given us the title of “Poorest County of California.”
Don Saylor brings 20 years of service as well as the knowledge and experience to confront the particular concerns we face. Since 2011 he has been an active member on the Yolo County Board of Supervisors. Between 2004 and 2010 he was Mayor and Council Member in Davis. He served as a Trustee of the Davis Joint Unified School District between 1995 and 2003.
I recently had the opportunity to meet and talk with Don. He is a thoughtful man with a singular vision to improve the lives of the people he represents. He is a strong believer in education aiding in the construction of three new schools as well as improving academic programs to give kids the best education possible.
As a Supervisor in Yolo County he was able to expand health coverage to more than 2,000 low income residents as well as improving mental health care. He launched the Yolo Food Connect to fight hunger and eliminate food insecurity. He is a strong advocate of the “farm to table” concept utilizing agriculture to bring local produce to all and at the same time improving the economy as well as providing jobs.
Don Saylor has lived in a rural community for 20 years and understands the problems we face. The water issues, the poor roads, housing and health care, the unemployment and homelessness. By improving the infrastructure we can better provide for our people as well as attracting new businesses and people. Specifically to Lake County we need to support renewable energy projects and take care of our beloved Clear Lake and the Middlecreek Wetlands. We need to help Cobb Mountain rebuild itself.
We have a lot to do if we are to proceed and prosper and lose the title of “Poorest County in California” We have so much going for us if we could just believe in our future. We need to jump in and start working together and elect the right representatives to help us move forward. Don Saylor is listening. He is a good man. He is the State Assembly man for us. Help support Lake County and vote for him.
