Clearlake >> A woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend late Thursday night and now faces felony charges of domestic violence and attempted murder.

The 58-year-old victim, whose name is being withheld, appeared to have suffered several stab wounds to his abdomen when Clearlake Police Department (CPD) officers investigate the incident. He was later flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment. Embree Vance is suspected in the act. She was arrested and faced two felony charges.

The assault reportedly occurred in their shared home, located in the 16500 block of Dam Road, sometime after 9 p.m. After interviewing the victim, officers went to the scene of the alleged crime.

As officers were arriving, CPD Sgt. Travis Lenz saw a man and woman walking in the road near the residence. Both subjects appeared intoxicated, CPD Sgt. Rodd Joseph said in a press statement. Upon contact, the woman was identified as Vance, 40. The man with her was identified as Shandoah Vance, 18, her son. Both were appeared to be very intoxicated to the officer.

Embree Vance allegedly admitted to stabbing her boyfriend during a physical altercation he was in with her son. Vance was found to still be in possession of the knife. The mother and son both appeared to be uninjured.

Both were later transported to the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility for booking.

While Embree Vance faces possible felony charges, Shandoah Vance was arrested for public intoxication. The case has been submitted to the Lake County District Attorney’s Office for filing.

The victim was last reported to be in stable condition.
