LAKE COUNTY >> The Department of Fish and Wildlife (DFW) is offering a series of free hunter education courses in Lake County.
Course locations and dates are:
— Kelseyville, March 14-16, March 19 at the Riviera Heights Homeowners Association Clubhouse, 3034 Riviera Heights Drive.
— Lakeport, May 2-4, May 7 at the Lakeport Fire Department, 445 N. Main St.
— Lower Lake, July 11-13, July 16 at the Red Brick Hall, 16374 Main St.
Monday through Wednesday class ours are 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at all three venues. Saturday class hours are 8 a.m. to noon.
You must attend all days and hours to receive full credit and must pass the required test for certification. Completion is necessary for those who do not currently hold a hunting license but who wish to obtain one.
Training topics include hunter and firearm safety, ethics and hunter responsibility, basic first aid, wildlife identification and management, hunting techniques, various hunting equipment, and wild game care.
