FOLSOM >> Hadyn Evans and Tate Smith of the Lake County High School Fishing Club finished first in a tournament held Sunday at Lake Folsom.
Despite windy and rainy weather, Evans and Smith brought in a five-fish limit of 11.93 pounds, capped by a 3.3-pound bass. In preparation for the tournament, Evans and Smith went out prefishing on Saturday along with boat Frank Jocksch.
The Lake County team of Thomas Humphrey and Jose Carrillo finished 13th overall out of the 40-team field.
Lake County’s high school fishing teams return to action April 3 on the Delta at Russo’s Marina.
