Kelseyville >> The award winning family quartet Southern Raised takes the stage at the Kelseyville Presbyterian Church tonight.
Admission is free to see and hear this Christian group that has transformed their classical-music upbringing into a mix of Southern gospel, bluegrass and country.
“They’re hot,” said Jerry Edwards, who is responsible for first bringing it all to Lake County. “Last year the place was packed.”
The musicians tell their story, as well as entertain and inspire with a variety of vocal harmonies and on a number of different instruments — fiddles, banjo, bass fiddle, mandolin, guitar and flute.
“It’s great to see young people with such positive, heartfelt messages for us all,” commented a local spokesperson for the event. “Messages rooted in the deep faith of the family.”
There is no admission charge for the Southern Raised performance which begins at 6:30 p.m.
The Kelseyville Presbyterian Church is located at Third and Church streets behind Westamerica Bank.
