Lovelight: A Tennebrae Service, 6 p.m.
Lovelight is based on the ancient Tenebrae, a service dating from the 8th Century. It commemorates the suffering and death of Jesus and represents the darkness that overcame the earth at the crucifixion. The story tonight will be heard through the alternating perspectives of Mary, mother of Jesus and through the words of Christ.

Good Friday Service, 7 p.m.
After participating in the ecumenical Good Friday service at noon at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Lakeport, Galilee Lutheran will hold our own service tonight at 7. This is a meditative service commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his sacrifice for the rest of the world. It is also the key event before Easter Sunday. In fact, without Friday night there would be no Sunday morning. In order to get the full impact of Easter, one must walk the path that leads there. All are welcome!

Clearlake Community United Methodist Church, Clearlake Oaks United Methodist Church and Lower Lake United Methodist Church
Combined Good Friday Service, 6 p.m.
United in Christ, the people from Clearlake UMC, Clearlake Oaks UMCand Lower Lake UMC will join together for a Good Friday Candlelight service at 6 p.m. tonight. We will recall the last seven words of Christ with a Tenebrae service which will include music and scripture. Our joint service will be held at the Clearlake Community United Methodist Church at 14521 Pearl Avenue in Clearlake.
