The county’s Picasso
In reading Mr. McKay recent sorrowful rant of how badly the Democratic Liberal Progressive Socialist party members are expressing their views of the picture he paints, as to the merits of the job our President has been able to get done, allowing for the Republican Party members do nothing leadership in congress, I think he is mistaken in saying we have painted a poor picture of himself or his party in our responses.
The simple truth in reading his recent rant is that when it comes to any painting skills, he has done a fine job in offering a Self Portrait, and no outside skills are needed in enhancing a view of his own talents in creativeness of his own views..
Can hardly wait for his next portrait of what a wonderful leader Thump will be for our nation.

Mac is right
I have to agree with Mac. I wish General Patton was around to direct troops today. He would slap a few of those PTSD Marines around and get them back in the fight. And Obama? What a failure he is. He failed to get Guantanamo prison closed (a big one). He failed to get the embargo of Cuba lifted. He failed to get gun control back on the agenda. He failed to stop the disenfranchisement of hundreds of thousands of voters.
Well, enuf with the failures of Obama and back to rhetoric. The murder rate in Chicago is unacceptable and attributed to, “The (police) department says most of the increase in violence stems from gang members using illegally acquired guns …” (from the Washington Post). This is Obama’s failure to control illegal gun purchases.
And the border wall. Trump himself said that a 30 foot wall would prevent the illegals from crossing the border, unless they had a rope after using a 31 foot ladder. John Oliver showed the video on one of his shows. And, apparently Mac has not been watching the news. All of the terrorists in Europe were in the countries legally or with forged documents.
I’m sorry, I should be stating facts and not using rhetoric.
Funny that Mac only mentions a recent case where a police officer was not at fault (Ferguson). I think he knows about Freddie Gray or Laquan McDonald or Tamir Rice but may not know about Elijah Pontoon. The story is here:

Enjoying our beautiful lake
Living near Clear Lake is an opportunity to enjoy, on a daily basis, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. I have never lived within sight or walking distance of Clear Lake and for a number of years that meant I enjoyed the lake only when driving by it.
Talk about a missed opportunity on my part! We actually own a canoe but it was always just a little too much effort to load it on the car and haul it to the lake. I’d say that we have used it a maximum of 5 times in the last 15 plus years. I figured that if I couldn’t even get a canoe to the water I was going to be stuck wishfully looking out at the lake from my car.
That all changed when I learned about Clear Lake Scullers, a Lake County community based rowing club. Since then, as a club member, I have spent many wonderful hours on Clear Lake rowing and enjoying the delightful perspective of looking back at the shoreline. The club has a boat yard right by the lake, near the old Natural High School in Lakeport, so I don’t have to haul a boat anywhere, a big plus for me. An extra bit of motivation that helps make it happen for me, is that when rowing in a team boat I don’t want to be the one to skip the row leaving the team short handed.
Once on the lake, not only is rowing great exercise but as a bonus we sometimes have some pretty amazing bird sightings. For a very reasonable membership fee I get access to all the boats in the boatyard and world class instruction from the club coach when he is around. The club has organized rows three times a week in the summer, and whenever the weather permits the rest of the year. Some folks enjoy taking boats out on their own which works too, once they are certified by the coach. Clear Lake Scullers is always looking for new members and we will happily take you out on the lake to test row a club boat. Check out clearlakescullers.org or call 275-9315. Don’t just look at the lake, give us a call and get on the lake.
