Lakeport>> The Pacific Chapter of the Neuropathy Association in Lakeport will meet on April 13 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lakeport Senior Activity Center, located at 527 Konocti Ave.
Neuropathy is damage to or disease affecting nerves, which may impair sensation, movement, gland or organ function, or other aspects of health. Common causes include systemic diseases such as diabetes or leprosy, vitamin deficiency, medication, chemotherapy, traumatic injury, immune system disease or viral infection.
More than two million people in California are estimated to be suffering from it. Symptoms of neuropathy includes numbness, tremor, impairment of balance and gait abnormality tingling, pain, muscle twitch and itching. Neuropathic pain is difficult to control and can seriously affect emotional well-being and overall quality of life.
This month, we will continue with easy exercise and discuss the medication and supplement.
