Clear Lake High School’s JV squad edged Upper Lake 3-2 at home on Saturday in a game shortened by rain to 5 innings.
Abraham Ojeda went the distance to notch a win in his first start of the season. Although wild at times, walking 5, Ojeda fanned 10 and allowed no hits.
“He did a great job for us,” observed Cardinals head coach John Garrison. “Since we lost Preston Jones and Isaac Lewis to varsity, we have been looking for another pitcher and I think we found one.”
Ojeda was aided by the bats of Logan Tucker and K. Ashworth, who combined for three hits, driving in all three Cardinals run.
Upper Lake rallied in the fifth, but sharp defense secured the Clear Lake win.
