LOWER LAKE >> Lower Lake High School junior Marlon Jones Jr. posted victories in three events on Wednesday as the Trojans hosted Kelseyville, Middletown and St. Helena in Coastal Mountain Conference track action at Gordon Sadler Field.
Jones won the 100 meters in 11.62 seconds, the 200 in 23.96 and the high jump by clearing 5 feet, 4 inches.
Kelseyville freshman Andre Williams ran away from the field in both the 1,600, which he won in 4 minutes, 59.95 seconds, and the 3,200 with a time of 11:06.49.
Single-event winners included Kelseyville’s Roberto Lozano in the 800 (2:22.93) and John Prescott in the long jump (16-5 ½), and Middletown’s Nick Billeci in the discus (107-9).
Middletown also won the 4×400 relay in 3:58.40, edging out Kelseyville (3:58.84).
Girls
Makenzee Taylor of Kelseyville won the 100 (13.34) and 200 (29.18) in the girls’ division while Middletown’s Amy Herman won the 100 hurdles (20.54) and high jump (4-4).
Single-event winners were Middletown’s Grace Southern in the 400 (1:08.52), Kailei Foltmer in the 3,200 (15:04.18) and Samantha Hitner in the discus (84-0), and Kelseyville’s Sara Humphrey in the shotput (28-1).
Middletown won the 4×400 relay in 4:41.24.
JV boys
Lake County athletes won all of the events in junior varsity boys’ division, led by Lower Lake’s Angel Jauregui, who finished first in the 200 (26.11) 400 (58.90) and 800 (2:22.26).
Other winners were Kelseyville’s Justin Perez in the 1,600 (5:46) and Damian Ledesma in the triple jump (17-9 ½); Middletown’s Michael Giacomini in the 100 (11.84), Mark Briener in the shotput (37-11) and Jeff Morris in the high jump (5-0); and Lower Lake’s Carlos Avelar in the 100 hurdles (19.33), Romeo Barrientos in the 300 hurdles (49.78), Brandon Law in the 3,200 (14:14.67), Brian Sanchez in the discus (87-7) and Alejandro Rivera in the triple jump (33-4 ½).
Middletown picked up another first in the 4×400 (4:25.83).
