LAKEPORT >> Lakeport police arrested Michael Alan Oleson on suspicion the Clear Lake High School teacher was under the influence of marijuana.
Oleson, a Kelseyville resident, was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon, following reports to the school that an employee had been seen driving erratically on streets near the campus.
Officers responding to the call, shortly before 3 p.m., evaluated Oleson in a CLHS administrative office. Based on their investigation, officers believed that he was displaying symptoms of marijuana influence. But it wasn’t until they stepped out of the room to speak to others that evidence allegedly supporting marijuana use come to light.
Officers continued to watch Oleson as he sat in the room. According to LPD police chief Brad Rasmussen, as authorities interviewed school administration, an officer saw Oleson concealing an item inside an office bookcase. Officers immediately entered the office and searched the area, recovering the item which was identified as a personal use quantity of marijuana hash oil.
Oleson was placed under arrest for misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs (marijuana), possession of marijuana on school grounds and concealing evidence (hash oil) to prevent its discovery.
Officers searched Oleson’s vehicle, which was parked on the campus, and reportedly located further evidence of marijuana use and possession.
Oleson was transported to the LPD where he submitted to a urine test and was then transported to the Lake County Correctional Facility where he was booked facing multiple charges.
