LOWER LAKE >> The Harlem Wizards are coming to town on Monday in a fundraiser basketball game for Konocti Unified School District students in tier 2 and 3 programs and the Lower Lake High School wrestling team. They face a formidable task against the Lake County All-Stars, who are looking for the big-time upset.
Game time is 7 p.m. at the new Lower Lake High School gym. Advance tickets are on sale at Foods. Etc. in Clearlake and at the Game Hub in Lower Lake and are cheaper than tickets at the door. Prices for students (kindergarten through 12th grade) are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets for adults are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Reserve tickets, which include seating in rows 1-5 and a poster, are $15. Courtside tickets are $25, which include seating behind the Wizards bench, a meet-and-greet session with Wizards players, a free poster, player autographs and photos.
Facing the Wizards is an All-Star team of administrators, teachers and students, many of whom passed up potential NBA careers to pursue jobs in the education field. That list includes:
