Lake County >> The Redbud Audubon Society’s April field trip to the Laguna de Santa Rosa will be held on Saturday.

The Laguna de Santa Rosa is at Sonoma County Park located off Highway 12; the park is approximately 5 and a half miles after turning westbound onto 12 from Highway 101. It is before the city of Sebastopol.

The laguna is an important stopover for thousands of birds migrating along the Pacific Flyway and is home to a wide variety of life including more than 200 species of birds ranging from bald eagles to hummingbirds.

Carpooling will be available and participants are asked to meet in Lower Lake at the east end of town, past the intersection of Highway 29 and Highway 53, by 8 a.m. Participants will park at the east end to not interfere with businesses and commerce in Lower Lake. For more information, call Pat Harmon at (707) 263-4977.

There will be songbirds, raptors, and other birds. It is a flat walk. Those attending can either eat at a restaurant in Sebastopol or bring a lunch to eat at the Sebastopol City Park after the field trip.

As with all Audubon events, the public is invited to attend.
