Lucerne >> Work by graduating students of Marymount California University Lakeside Campus will be on display to the public starting Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.

The 13 students are slated to be the university’s first to complete their bachelor’s degrees at its Lake County campus. A commencement ceremony in May will honor and award degrees to the Lake County residents in areas of psychology, business and liberal arts.

Every graduating student has completed a senior “Capstone” project. They vary across programs and students, allowing for an individualized, culminating experience in each area of study. Every project is an original which demonstrates a student’s mastery of his or her major area of study.

The Capstone projects include such topics as economic development issues in Lake County, rural youth issues and opportunities, and a project looking at physical activities in Lake County.

Students will be available on Monday to answer questions and elaborate on their work, which will be presented in poster format. Capstone projects will continue to be on display through May 11, with the public invited to stop by to see them on Monday through Thursday, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. each day.

The campus is located at 3700 Country Club Drive in Lucerne.
