Patton’s way
In order to clarify my comments to Shirley Hunter. I said nothing derogatory about General George Patton and I didn’t mention PTSD. I said that our Liberal PC way of running this Country would not be tolerated by General Patton. And thank God for that because we did win WWII!! I know he didn’t do it by himself but he was one of our major players in WWII.
General Patton had a non PC way of persuasion. He convinced his men and his superiors his way could win the war, which he was instrumental in doing. I will not apologize for Patton’s winning strategy or Mr. Bracken putting words in my mouth. Do you think ISIS would be winning if we had General Patton running things? Liberal Progressive PC Politicians have not put us on a winning track.
I am very grateful for all the men and women who serve in our military. I have nothing but respect for them and the time they give to help keep us safe. My problem is with our government, who doesn’t seem to feel this way.

In support of Saylor
In the heat of discussion over whose, and which values we want to support in the Presidential election, we often forget the importance of down-ticket candidates and their contributions, or lack thereof, to the wheels of good government. The current competition for the representative in the Fourth District of the California State Assembly is a prime example of the difficulty California’s Open Primary system creates for voters.
There are at least three good candidates representing the Democratic Party. Upon closer examination we can see that Don Saylor stands head and shoulders above the others because:
• He maintains his focus on the issues that concern all Californians, saying “I’m running for Assembly in District 4, because I want all Californians to thrive. My public service spans over 40 years, including service as a local elected official for the past 20 years.”
• He is endorsed by at least 13 labor councils and unions, as well as the Sacramento Stonewall Democrats, and the Progressive Women of Napa Valley. He is also endorsed by at least 97 elected officials, including Mayors, Board of Supervisors, School Superintendents, Associated Students from UC Davis, City Council members, etc. — a long and impressive list from all over Northern California that may be viewed at <http://www.donsaylor.org/endorse_don>
Here are some of his accomplishments in just three areas of concern — (information from <www.donsaylor.org>)
Agriculture: “As Yolo County Supervisor, Don Saylor worked to make agriculture the number one priority. Don championed land use policies to preserve and enhance long-term sustainability of agriculture, including stringent agriculture mitigation requirements, minimum parcel sizes for subdivision, and other strategies.”
Education: “As a school board member, Don built new schools and supported programs to create stronger learning opportunities in music, arts, language, math and science. He has the experience we need to deliver a quality education for all of our children.”
Water: “As a city council member and county supervisor, Don advanced a surface water project to replace the largest unscreened intake on the Sacramento River and improve the source water quality for 120,000 downstream users. He was a founding member in 2010 of the Woodland Davis Clean Water Agency and continues as an Ex-Officio member of that Board.”
Above all, Don Saylor’s most electable and get-things-done quality is his charisma. He’s on the road almost constantly in this campaign season trying to visit everyone in this large Assembly District. Take the opportunity to meet him when he’s in your neighborhood. Then VOTE on June 7th. (Be sure you’re registered by May 23rd)
