A little humor

Saw this on the internet and thought it was cute. I know that Kevin Bracken & Jim Hall won’t agree with me, but oh well, I don‘t agree with what they say either.

Anyway it is just a little humor!)

“The New Democrat Symbol — no more Donkey!

The Democrat Party today announced that it is changing its symbol from the Donkey to a Condom because it more accurately reflects the Party’s political stance. A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects idiots and the mistakes they make, and gives you a sense of security while you’re actually being screwed!

After all the Dems are never wrong.”

P.S. Who do you think edits and tries to fact check Mac’s letters, even though I don’t bother giving you the web sites to look it up? After all, you can find anything on the internet and take it however you want.

I also know there are just as many jokes about the Republicans. So lighten up.

Setting Mr. Murphy straight

Regarding Mr. Murphy’s accusations, I would like to set the record straight.

1. Supervisor Farrington did do his job as a supervisor by holding meetings with the S. Main Street property owners who requested not to be annexed to the City of Lakeport, because of extra costs and associated fees.

Farrington called the meetings to inform and get all the property owners’ opinions regarding the S. Main Street annexing process. All the property owners said no way to the annexing, Farrington did do his job.

2. Mr. Murphy stated that Mr. Rose never mentioned electricity. If Mr. Murphy would do some research he would find out that I wrote a letter to the editor almost a year ago asking the Board of Supervisors to make a deal with Calpine regarding getting bargain electricity for the Lake County taxpayers.

This was at the same time that Sonoma Clean Power was making a deal with the other side of the steam wells, and I wanted to see if the county would join Sonoma Clean Power as they had already went through the hoops to make it all work properly.

So Mr. Murphy is wrong on both accounts. This is the property owners request not to be involved with the annexing to the City of Lakeport period and the Supervisors chose to ignore my proposal, which was their choice not mine.

Just trying to set the record straight with proper facts.

Come together

Republicans, Democrats, independents — whatever you may call yourself, let us all think about only one thing now: Can we unite and become Americans first? What is going to happen to the United States of America if we do not?

History shows where there is weakness the bully soon infiltrates and takes over. In recent years we have seen the softening of our U.S. military. I don’t like war. No American likes war, or oppression by countries of the world, but we are seeing their aggression happening today.

By the current administration’s actions, the world is seeing the United States as getting “smaller” and of little consequence. What will be left for future generations if the United States continues on its current path?

It is time (or is it past time?) for all citizens to search deeply into their souls and figure out what they really want, not for just today, but for the future of this nation. To be a strong nation, we must find a way to unite, regardless of background or ethnicity.

I hope with all my heart that the decision will be for a truly united citizenship of the United States of America, with peace through strength as its motto.

Phone scam

I have been threatened and harassed for almost three months by the IRS telephone scam.

The telephone recorded caller says “We have been trying to get in touch with you” and continues to say they are filing a lawsuit against me. They gave me a telephone number to call if I wanted more information.

I have never called the number and now I immediately hang up when I know it is the scam recording. Sometimes they call two or three times a day. I have two very ill friends in the hospital, so answering the phone is a must.

The police, Federal Communications and the IRS are all aware of this scam.

Please don’t be fooled by this fraud. The IRS will never request or demand that you send a payment by Western Union or prepaid debit card. First you will receive a bill.

A good lesson or suggestion is never send money if it is requested on the telephone by someone you don’t know. No matter how genuine and kind — or threatening — they may sound. Just hang up.
